6 Reasons To Like AskMen's "Most Desirable Women"
LatestAskMen’s list of the Top 99 Most Desirable Women of 2010 includes a lot of the usual suspects (Megan Foxzzzz), and the very concept of ranking desirable women is annoying at best. Still, we like some of AskMen’s choices.
Unsurprisingly — it is AskMen — these women almost uniformly live up to a Hollywood beauty ideal, even if they don’t actually work in Hollywood. While some might be “curvy” by modeling standards, there’s nary a plus-size woman in sight. And while the list does include some women of color — Rihanna and Aishwarya Rai are examples — it could still be more diverse in every way (like: are there any desirable women over 45?). Of course, the whole project of identifying the “most desirable” women is pretty suspect — even though Ask Men claims to have, um, asked men, a poll like this is still likely to get the most socially acceptable answers. Oh, and it repeatedly plugs the movie Valentine’s Day — once with a notoriously photoshopped image of Jessica Alba. However, rather than dismiss the list out of hand, I decided to go through it, and I found a few things to like.
Anna Paquin (no. 79) has consistently made interesting acting choices, and was the second youngest Oscar winner ever. I also like her gap-toothed smile, and her name.
