In October Alice Glass, formerly of Crystal Castles, wrote a harrowing testimony on her website alleging she had endured physical and psychological abuse by band member Ethan Kath. After Kath filed a defamation lawsuit against Glass in November, she has now responded saying that she will take the stand against him.
TMZ reports that according to court documents Glass (real name Margaret Osborn) filed, she reiterated the story she wrote on her website and that she was willing to testify against Kath (real name Claudio Palmieri) in court. In her statement Glass said she first met Kath when she was 15, when he was 10 years older than her. From then on, she said, he physically and sexually assaulted her on several occasions. Glass left the band in 2014 to pursue a solo career, with the proceeds of her first single going to victims of domestic violence.
On December 21 The Daily Beast reported that Kath was also under investigation for sex crimes in Toronto involving multiple women. In Glass’s court declaration she says that she learned, after posting her own allegations in October, that Kath had allegedly hurt other women as well. Glass says that she and two other women filed criminal complaints against Kath in November.
