I’m really sort of awestruck by how many different ways this administration can fuck people over, aren’t you?
Here’s all the shit we couldn’t cover today:
- Anthony Scaramucci, a finance bro who is now, for no apparent reason, paid to represent the White House and president of the United States of America, used the word “cock” exactly three times—and “fuck” a total of six times—in a rather incredible rant to The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza on Wednesday night. Upset that someone had leaked his dinner plans to Lizza, Scaramucci called the reporter and attempted to coerce him into revealing his source. In the process, he went off on Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, calling him a “fucking paranoid schizophrenic,” and threatened to fire the entire communications staff. “I fired one guy the other day. I have three to four people I’ll fire tomorrow. I’ll get to the person who leaked that to you. Reince Priebus—if you want to leak something—he’ll be asked to resign very shortly,” he said. He also said this, for some reason: “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock.” What a strong first week on the job! [The New Yorker]
- The Boy Scouts of America has apologized to the nation for Donald Trump’s rambling, inane remarks at the National Jamboree earlier this week. “We know the past few days have been overshadowed by the remarks offered by the President of the United States. I want to extend my sincere apologies to those in our Scouting family who were offended by the political rhetoric that was inserted into the [J]amboree,” the statement read. “We sincerely regret that politics were inserted into the Scouting program.” [ScoutingWire.org]

- Would it surprise you to learn that Trump’s new EPA pick to head the chemical and pesticides office is a controversial toxicologist who, according to his Twitter bio, “writes books matching science and Biblical text”? Some of the titles include The Linen Cloths: …Jesus Left Behind and The Beginning: Let there be light. How lovely. [Buzzfeed]
- Concerned about the slow dismantling of Title IX protections, a bipartisan group of legislators have written to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and acting secretary of the Office of Civil Rights Candice Jackson to continue publishing the names of colleges that are under investigation for sexual harassment and assault claims. “By continuing to publish the list of college and universities under investigation for potential violations of Title IX, OCR will show its commitment to survivors and its intent to hold schools accountable for their actions,” the letter read. Earlier this month, in addition to meeting with sexual assault survivors, DeVos met with Men’s Rights Activists; Jackson has called the lists, which build transparency and accountability, a form of public shaming.
