Here’s a riddle: I’m a former beauty queen and failed reality TV star with a Christian clothing line who recently warned young women not to be career-driven. Why was I just named to the board of a government military school?!
Of the many things I miss about life before November 2024, high on the list is not knowing who Erika Kirk is. This week, we learned she’d been given her late husband’s spot on the Air Force Academy Board of Visitors. It made zero sense why Charlie Kirk, a podcaster, had been on the board in the first place—and even less sense that his wife is now replacing him.
Which brings us to this week’s winning comment, from @Constance, who commented on “Erika Kirk Gets Another Gig” and perfectly captured my exact emotional state upon reading this news:
My doctor told me yesterday I need another inhaler and I respectfully declined…I am out of reasons to continue breathing…
