David Bowie has released a sprawling and creeptastic video for “★,” a track off his upcoming album ★. Yes, he’s spelling “Blackstar” with a symbol because this kind of thing worked so well for Prince in the early ‘90s.

The video—debuted by Palladia and directed by Johan Renck—features dead astronauts (poor Major Tom), girls with tails, spasmodic scarecrow, a blindfolded Bowie, and a bunch of tranced-out, herky-jerky dancers who move very similarly to the way that I dance when I get too drunk at a party and really want to let loose.
Both lyrically and musically, “★” sounds more like an homage to Bowie (or maybe even a parody of Bowie) rather than a song by the man himself, but his vocals are still pleasantly full and strong.
And he’s still handsome as ever.
