Oh, to be Marla Maples right now. On one hand, you’ve suddenly been thrust back into the unforgiving public eye because your disgusting ex-husband and father of your daughter was elected President of the United States. On the other hand, you got out while you still could, are rich as hell, and can ignore all the bad news surrounding your ex by going on “spiritual holidays.”
While leaving “an event Wednesday night in NYC,” a TMZ reporter spoke with a decidedly chill Maples and asked for her thoughts on that now-infamous photo of former comedian Kathy Griffin holding the bloody head of Donald Trump, the man she was married to for six years. Through her permanent smile and with the wispy voice of someone who has been trained to give no comment as politely as possible, Maples says, “I’ve been on a spiritual holiday for the last 24 hours and have not seen any media.”
It’s an astounding response—simultaneously vague and definitive—and sets a new standard for creative variants of “no comment.” She should use this forever. Just look how well it works in all situations!
