In the clip, AI-Lara Trump announces the “first phase” of medbed rollout, saying “only a limited number of medbed cards will be released. Registration details will be announced very soon.” (The president’s daughter-in-law is a Fox News contributor.)
Fake Trump goes on to say that the medbeds mark “the beginning of a new era in American healthcare”—a brutal irony considering the actual sorry state of American healthcare. “These facilities are safe, modern and designed to restore every citizen to full health and strength,” he says.
In QAnon spaces, medbeds (which do not exist) have long been considered a cure-all technology; they believe the existence of this invention has been kept secret by liberals, militaries, and governments. Medbeds are why John F. Kennedy is alive. (He is not.) In 2021, one QAnon follower begged Trump to release the medbeds, on behalf of his sick wife and vaccinated kids.
The video has been deleted, and Trump—the president of the United States—has not yet commented on how or why the fake video appeared on his social media accounts (or whether or not he thinks “medbeds” are real). The post was one of many during a particularly active posting spree, in which he (falsely) blamed the FBI for participating in the January 6 riot, threatened to authorize full force in “War ravaged” Portland, and promoted a variety of news clips from right-wing platforms.
