Only a few more days until the Rapture!

Here’s all the shit we couldn’t cover today:

  • Here is a play-by-play of why the President of the United States is firing off incoherent (?) tweets about Vanity Fair and Anna Wintour. [Slate]
  • “Mr. Trump has transformed the world’s view of the United States from a reliable anchor of the liberal, rules-based international order into something more inward-looking and unpredictable. That is a seminal change from the role the country has played for 70 years, under presidents from both parties, and it has lasting implications for how other countries chart their futures.” An interesting piece on how Trump has swiftly transformed American foreign policy. [New York Times]
  • Oh good, it’s already time to start talking about the midterm elections. [NBC News]
  • Speaking of midterms, Breitbart has denounced Paul Nehlen, a conservative running against Paul Ryan, for anti-Semitism. In early December, Nehlen campaigned for Roy Moore with Steve Bannon. Shortly after his speech during a Moore rally, Nehlen told the Post that, “Paul Ryan took dirty pedophile money from Dennis Hastert, and he never gave it back.” Irony is dead. [Washington Post]
  • Three midterm elections, in particular, could have a serious impact on health care policy. [Stat News]
  • Trump will have a physical on January 1. Sadly it will not be performed by Dr. Harold Borenstein the walking comic strip who, in 2015, declared Trump the “healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.” [NBC News]
  • Trump is “very disappointed” in China. [The Guardian]
  • A bit of good news: a federal judge has ordered the Department of Housing and Urban Development to follow an Obama-era rule that would help poor families move to wealthier areas. [Washington Post]
  • Representative Andy Biggs, an Arizona Republican, accused Robert Mueller of heading a “witch hunt.” Someone give these men some new phrases. [Talking Points Memo]
