Elegant White Gowns, Pastels, and Embellishment at the NAACP Image Awards

BeautyStyle

Kerry Washington, Viola Davis and Laverne Cox all, unsurprisingly, ruled the red carpet at Friday’s NAACP Vision Awards. White gowns, classic embellished black and pops of pastel were the fashion themes of the evening. The good, the bad, and everything else below.

In classic black is Teyonah Parris who looks so happy in all of her red carpet photos, Gabrielle Union is beautiful no matter what she wears, and Gabourey Sidibe who always looks polished.

Kerry Washington and Viola Davis both in elegant white gowns.

Robin Givens embraces simplicity while Naturi Naughton and Tracee Ellis Ross embrace the plunging neckline.

Chrissy Teigen brought her legs and John Legend wearing a navy blue tuxedo.

Also in blues: Shonda Rhimes, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Black-ish’s Yara Shahidi.

Here’s a better look at Jada Pinkett Smith’s gown and jewelry and Will Smith, too.

Jennifer Williams, Tammy Townsend and Amber Riley all rocked reds.

Laverne Cox wears her signature form-fitting and always perfect red carpet look.

Laura Govan wears fringes and cutouts, the always elegant Gugu Mbatha-Raw makes the red carpet thing look easy, and Genneya Walton makes awkward teen years look like a myth.

Taraji P. Henson poses in her embellished nude gown after her win, Erica Ash waves to the camera, and Wendy Raquel Robinson rocks elaborate beading.
