First Female Football Coach Unfazed By Criticism

Latest

Natalie Randolph’s appointment as head football coach at D.C.’s Coolidge High School spurred online criticism last week, but today on GMA she said parents and school officials, at least, are being supportive: “I was overwhelmed by how positive it was.”

While Randolph’s obviously happy to be the first female head coach, she seems less concerned with the distinction and more focused on getting to coach the sport that she loves, and passing that love of the game onto the students — and rightly so. While her gender may make her appointment newsworthy, it’s her passion for football and helping her players that will make her a great coach.
