Former Indiana University Student Accused of Rape, Gets 1 Year Probation

Latest

On Friday, June 24, former Indiana University student John P. Enochs was sentenced to one year of probation after being charged with two counts of felony rape.

Both fellow Indiana University students, one accuser said that Enochs raped her in April 2015 at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house on campus. Enochs was a member of the fraternity, and security cameras reveal him walking into a bedroom with her. The second attack allegedly occurred in 2013.

According to NBC Chicago, Enochs denied the rape charges but, in a plea deal, admitted guilt to battery with moderate bodily injury — a misdemeanor, rather than a felony. In return, both rape charges were dismissed.

Court records show that Enochs spent one night in jail over the course of the trial proceedings.
