From La La Land to People v. O.J., Here Are the 2017 Golden Globe Nominees

Entertainment

Along with an unshakeable feeling of impending doom, awards season is finally here. The nominees have been announced for the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, the one where Hollywood film and television stars mingle, get dazzlingly drunk and deliver awkward politically correct speeches.

In terms of the films and TV shows I care about, Moonlight is nominated for six Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture Drama and Best Original Screenplay. Atlanta nailed a nomination for Best TV Series and a Best Actor nod for Donald Glover, while Issa Rae earned a Best Actress nomination for Insecure.

The Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone musical La La Land leads all nominees with seven overall, followed by Moonlight with six. As for television, popular new shows like Stranger Things, This Is Us (hm) and Westworld earned nominations, and The People v. O.J. Simpson will get a chance to clean up another awards show. Elsewhere, Justin Timberlake’s “Cant Stop The Feeling,” from Trolls, is nominated for most irritating song of the year best original song.

The 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, will air on January 8 on NBC at 8 p.m. E.T. Here is the full list of nominees.
