Here's the Trailer for Shailene Woodley's New Sailing Disaster Film, Adrift
EntertainmentOh great, a movie that confirms all my fears about towering, swooping, death-bringing walls of water. Would I rather watch Piranha 3D?…maybe. I have several fears.
The trailer for the new Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin movie, Adrift, was released on Wednesday. Directed by Baltasar Kormákur (The Deep, The Sea), the film follows Tami Oldham (Woodley), a young woman who travels to Tahiti, apparently to “chase adventures,” and ends up going on a love cruise for two with Richard (Claflin), a man who also enjoys adventure, and hallucinating in the middle of the ocean.
Tragically, the category 5 Hurricane Raymond catches up with them, decimating their vessel and badly injuring Richard. Then, by the looks of it, Tami fixes the boat and attempts to steer them to safety. The movie is based on the true story of what Oldham miraculously endured in 1983.
Can’t wait to see Titanic warmed up! Seriously, though, has there ever been a remotely happy movie involving boats?
Adrift arrives in theaters June 1.
