Hilary Clinton has earned the all-important endorsement of Robert De Niro. De Niro told the Daily Beast that Clinton had “earned the right be president, and the head of the country at this point.”
“And she’s a woman, which is very important because her take on things may be what we need right now.”
Clinton is expected to formally announce her candidacy in the next two weeks (or so). Last week Politico reported that she had rented two floors of a downtown Brooklyn office space that’s expected to serve as her campaign headquarters.
Between the campaign HQ and De Niro’s endorsement, Clinton is slowly taking over New York. Cue Alicia Keys crooning “concrete jungle where dreams are made of,” while Clinton walks out to a throng of cheering millennials to announce her candidacy. Chelsea holds her baby, Bill is a bit misty-eyed. Welcome to 2016.
