Hillary Clinton Showers Michelle Obama With Due Praise in First Joint Campaign Appearance

Politics

On the 12th (to last) day of Election Season, our true love gave to us: First Lady Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton teaming up for their first campaign appearance, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. “Let’s be real,” said Clinton in her speech. “As our first African-American First Lady, she’s faced pressures I never did.”

Much of Clinton’s speech today, during an early-voting rally at Wake Forest University, served as an ode to FLOTUS and her contributions to the country and to Clinton’s campaign. Being First Lady isn’t easy, but Michelle Obama made it look good. “It doesn’t get any better than being here with our most amazing First Lady,” Clinton told the crowd. “She has spent eight years as our First Lady advocating for girls around the world to go to school and have the same opportunities as boys.”

While giving the crowd a rundown of what’s “at stake” in this election (women’s rights, student debt, basic human decency), Clinton rightfully fawned over FLOTUS, crediting Obama for, among other things, her health initiatives, her consistent poise as First Lady and her dancing.

Clinton continued to pile on the praise as FLOTUS sat on stage behind her. “She has shown every little girl in boy in America that there are no limits to what they can achieve if they work hard and do right and believe in themselves,” said Clinton. “Seriously, is there anyone more inspiring than Michelle Obama?” (NOPE!!!!!!!!). Clinton added, “She has exceeded our expectations in terms of how many events she has been able to do, willing to do. Her team keeps surprising us with additional availability and we can’t, from our vantage point, we can’t get her out there enough. She’s been an absolute rock star.”

Once Obama took the stage, she first addressed those who’ve remarked on her visibility on the campaign trail. “I know that there are some folks out there who’ve commented that it’s been unprecedented for a sitting First Lady to be out actively engaged in a presidential campaign,” she said. “And that may be true, but what’s also true is that this is truly an unprecedented election and that’s why I’m out here.”

Obama went on to trash screaming monkfish Donald Trump and his crusade against the non-white man population, and, of course, noted Clinton’s deep resumé. “We have never had a more qualified and prepared candidate for president than our friend Hillary Clinton,” said FLOTUS. “So yes, she is absolutely ready to be Commander-in-Chief on day one. And yes, she happens to be a woman.”
