Ivanka Trump appeared on Fox & Friends Monday to give a little update on her life, and reiterate her father’s talking points about the James Comey hearing after Donald Trump Jr. bungled it over the weekend.
Fox Newsreports that Ivanka generously allowed the cast a glimpse into the family’s “daily battle with detractors.” Ivanka is much better at her job of mouthing meaningless platitudes than Donald Jr., and quickly got out the Trump Administration’s unfounded message that Comey’s testimony “vindicated” Trump.
“My father felt very vindicated in all the statements that he’s been making and feels incredibly optimistic,” Ivanka said. “But you know at the White House, we’re all incredibly focused on the reason we all went to Washington and what we’re fighting for.”
From there she segued into promoting Trump’s plans for rebuilding infrastructure and job creation. Good job, Ivanka. There was even an opening for host Brian Kilmeade, a potato, to say that unemployment figures don’t just reflect the virtuously unemployed but those who “choose not to work.” What an exciting new lie to spread!
But, what about how Ivanka is feeling? After Kilmeade asks about how she deals with all these wacky Russia rumors, Ivanka says that while it’s challenging to be criticized, she is remembering all the factory workers and people caught up in the opioid crisis, the only two kinds of Americans the Trumps acknowledge.
“It is hard. There’s a level of viciousness that I was not expecting,” Ivanka said. “I was not expecting the intensity of this experience. But this isn’t supposed to be easy. My father, and this administration, intends to be transformative and we want to do big bold things and we’re looking to change the status quo.
“Some of the distractions and some of the ferocity, I was a little blindsided by on a personal level,” she continued, “But for me, I’m trying to keep my head down, not listen to the noise and just really work hard to make a positive impact in the lives of many people.”
