Jen Shah: Ghislaine Maxwell Has ‘No Remorse,’ Elizabeth Holmes Had ‘Poop Duty’
Shah, however, told People she is "remorseful and sorry for my actions and for my part" and also that “Lizzie and I are good friends." Chills.

Jen Shah is opening up about her fellow inmates, Elizabeth Holmes, a fellow fraudster of Theranos infamy, and Ghislaine Maxwell, of, well, you know, that guy. And based on what she shared, the next season of the Real Housewives of Federal Prison is going to be so good.
In 2023, Shah, a cast member on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, was indicted for her central role in a telemarketing scheme that targeted and defrauded elderly people out of their retirement funds. She was released in December and remains on home confinement.
“I was wrong,” Shah told People. “I made wrong decisions. I should have done things differently. I should have been more diligent. I am remorseful and sorry for my actions and for my part. I take full responsibility.”
During the trial, she claimed she’d been deceived by her business partner, and eventually pleaded guilty. But it was not until she arrived at the minimum-security Texas prison camp that she would meet her new BFF, Holmes, who was also convicted of fraud and sentenced to 11 years.
“Lizzie and I are good friends,” she said. Chills. “As another high-profile prisoner, there are certain things you are both dealing with, so you naturally come together in those instances.” According to Shah, she and “Lizzie” had many deep conversations and even participated in “poop duty” together.
“When you do poop duty with someone, you are going to be close,” she said.
She described the task as, “After [inmates] use the bathroom, you have to get up, go inspect it, and either clean it if they don’t or tell them to come back and clean it. You can imagine the smells and everything going on. If you get more strikes, you keep doing hours of poop duty,” she added, “So, yeah, it’s a thing. It’s poop duty in prison.” No further questions, your honor.
Her other high-profile inmate was Maxwell, who, after cutting a deal with Trump, was moved to the Bryan facility in May. She remains the only person tied to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking who is serving time.
Shah says she chose to have limited interactions with Maxwell. So I guess that’s a no on whether Maxwell was invited to the “Shah-mazing” workout classes that Shah hosted in the prison gym.
But she did describe a moment from last year, when the inmates were watching survivors call for the full release of the Epstein files, and Maxwell “made it very publicly known, at least to Elizabeth and I, that there is no remorse there.”
“To see that kind of behavior when there are real victims and to see what they went through, and to be so dismissive of that, that did not sit with me the right way,” she said.
And to think I’m learning about the depravity of this sex trafficker by way of a Real Housewife—2026 is quite the time. Can it be over now?
