Jennifer Lawrence Lauds Boyfriend Darren Aronofsky As 'Visionary' Director

Jennifer Lawrence, our best friend with the showstopping face and meteoric acting career, declines to discuss 47-year-old director Darren Aronofsky in his capacity as her boyfriend—totally fair!—but she will sing his praises as a filmmaker.

“He is a visionary,” she marvels in the holiday issue of Vanity Fair.

The 26-year-old Lawrence could probably call up just about any director and land a starring role. But she has been dazzled by Aronofsky ever since the release of Black Swan (ditto, tbh). She was so keen to work with him, in fact, that she accepted a role in his horror flick Mother before the script was completed.

Lawrence limited any talk of romance to her decision to no longer participate in weddings. I’m sorry to report that JLaw will decline any future requests to serve as a bridesmaid.

“All of my friends are getting married and having babies,” she told Vanity Fair. “Weddings rock, but I will never be a bridesmaid again. There needs to be a bridesmaids’ union. It’s horrendous. If anyone asks me again, I’m going to say, ‘No, that part of my life is over. I appreciate the ask.’ If I do ever get married, I don’t think I will have bridesmaids. How can I rank my friends?”
