Jessica Alba’s lifestyle venture of choice, the beauty company Honest, which stresses the importance of eco-friendly and non-toxic products, particularly for new moms, now has to pay a $1.55 million class action lawsuit for claiming their products did not contain a rash-causing chemical.
According to Radar Online, the company claimed that products like laundry detergent, dish soap and multi-surface cleaner didn’t contain any Sodium Lauryl Sulfate but rather “Sodium Coco Sulfate or SCS.” Turns out they were actually the same thing.
In a statement to The Daily Mail the Honest Company wrote that while they will settle the lawsuit so as to not drag out litigation, “they vigorously deny any and all allegations alleged in the lawsuit – specifically that any of our cleaning products contain SLS.”
“Go ahead, ask us anything. We’ll tell all,” reads the company website. “If we make a mistake or can’t live up to your expectations, we’ll fess up and keep trying to do better, no matter what it takes.” Seems like $1.55 million is exactly what it takes!
