Justice Department Can't Accept Defeat on Jane Doe Abortion Case

  • The Justice Department is upset that undocumented teen Jane Doe received an abortion the morning after a federal appeals court allowed her to obtain an abortion, and now seeks to punish the ACLU lawyers who represented her case. The DOJ claims, further, that “the ACLU misled the United States as to the timing of Jane Doe’s abortion,” according to a statement by spokesman Devin O’Malley. “In light of that, the Justice Department believes the judgment under review should be vacated, and discipline may be warranted against Jane Doe’s attorneys.” [Buzzfeed]
