Katie Couric Signs Off After Final CBS Evening News Broadcast

Latest

Tonight Katie Couric ended her historic run as the first solo female anchor of a major nightly news broadcast. The fact that it was her last day on the CBS Evening News wasn’t mentioned until the final minutes of the show, when she ran a montage of highlights from her five years on the job. She said anchoring the
program was an “extraordinary privilege,” and signed off, “Thank you so much for coming along with me on this incredible journey.” She’ll be replaced by Scott Pelley of 60 Minutes.
