Kim Cattrall Says She's a Surrogate Mother of Sorts, People Lose Their Shit

During a radio interview called Woman’s Hour in England, Sex and the City actress Kim Cattrall said she didn’t have any kids but acted as a surrogate mom for younger actors as well as her niece and nephew when they needed her. Now people are mad at her because… frankly, it’s unclear. Because she’s helpful?

Here’s what Cattrall said, according to CBS:

“I am a parent. I have young actors and actresses that I mentor. I have nieces and nephew that I am very close to, so I think the thing that I find questionable about being childless or child-free [is]: Are you really? There is a way to become a mother in this day and age that doesn’t include your name on the child’s birth certificate. You can express that maternal side of you very, very clearly, very strongly. I guess the word is — it feels very satisfying.”

She continued, per the Guardian, that her three marriages and other relationships never reached the point where children became an option and she didn’t want to become “a science experiment” by trying to get pregnant as she got older. Seems fair, no?

Elsewhere, Cattrall is pretty happy with the way her life has gone. She’s painted her bedroom pink and sleeps in the middle of her king size bed where she farts and snores as she pleases. Isn’t that what we all want?
