Charlie’s Angels is getting another reboot, just seventeen years after the Drew Barrymore/Cameron Diaz/Lucy Liu remake. And according to a report in Variety casting directors are looking at Stewart and Nyong’o to play two of the private investigators. Which, by the way, did you remember that the Angels were police-trained, private investigators? Because I did not! Seems like kind of a boring classification for all the karate-chopping and actual physical fighting they had to do.
As for the remake, the eyeing of Stewart for the movie is interesting because, as Variety points out, she has mostly been acting in indie films as of late like Personal Shopper and the forthcoming JT LeRoy movie as Savannah Knoop. The movie, set to come out the summer of 2019, is also being directed by actress and Pitch Perfect director Elizabeth Banks, continuing the Wonder Woman trend of women proving they are certainly capable of shooting action movies.
