Melissa McCarthy Says She'd Love To Be Emaciated

After a Marie Claire blogger criticized Melissa McCarthy‘s show Mike and Molly in 2010, saying:

“So anyway, yes, I think I’d be grossed out if I had to watch two characters with rolls and rolls of fat kissing each other. Because I’d be grossed out if I had to watch them doing anything.”

McCarthy said the blogger’s comment reinforced her own insecurities about herself and she had a brief moment of weakness where she wished she looked a bit differently:

“My first thought was, ‘Gosh, I hope she doesn’t have a daughter,'” she tells the new Entertainment Weekly. “And then after a second I thought, ‘What a sad, troubled person. You’re making such a s—-y judgment on people.'”
Still, McCarthy admits to EW that she occasionally wishes she had a different body than her own. “Do I sometimes hope I wake up in the morning and people are like, ‘What’s wrong with her? She looks so emaciated.’ Of course I would love that,” the comic star says.
I’m such a clothes whore I would love the opportunity to be a hanger,” admits McCarthy, who burst into tears when she won her Emmy for Mike and Molly in September. “But I think I’m more confident than I’ve ever felt in my life. I always thought it was worth the fight. Now I know it is.”

Thankfully, like many of us, she had this thought and then promptly remembered she was awesome.

Are we really celebrating the six month wedding anniversary of Prince William and Kate Middleton? Almost every entertainment news site seems to think so!

Can you believe it was just six months ago that the world pulled a collective all-nighter fueled by tea, digestives and sticky toffee pudding (what, just us?) to watch Pippa Middleton’s bum William Arthur Philip Louis Windsor tie the knot with Catherine Elizabeth Middleton?

Whether or not that was a thing people actually did —was it???— this link will take you to a play-by-play of the relatively newlywed couple’s past six months…if you’re into that. [E!]
