Mom Feeds Her Daughter Tapeworms to Slim Down for a Beauty Pageant
LatestHere is the perfect example of the sort of gross-out stories medical professionals trade trying to turn each other green: According to an upcoming episode of Untold Stories of the E.R., a very serious Discovery Fit & Health program, a Florida mom fed her daughter a bunch of tapeworm eggs so she’d slim down prior to a beauty pageant.
This comes via the Huffington Post. Untold Stories of the E.R. is, of course, “docudrama” in the vein of Sex Sent Me to the E.R., featuring reenactments of supposedly true stories. The (possibly very very tall!) tale comes from nurse Maricar Cabral-Osorio, who says a teenager came into her hospital with a bulging belly. But she wasn’t pregnant. They discovered the truth when she went to the ladies’ room: “It was so gross and she had pooped all these tapeworms. There were a couple that were very long and wiggling around trying to get out of the toilet bowl.”
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
NOPE NOPE NOPE
The jig was up:
“We were wondering how did she get those tapeworms, and then you saw the mom turn white,” Cabral-Osorio said. “The mom was apologizing to the girl. It’s like ‘I’m so sorry. You know, I did it just to make you a little skinnier. You needed some help before we went on to the pageant.”
A clip of the reenactment is available here. Gonna have to pass on the tapeworm diet, and also on Untold Stories of the E.R. Perfectly happy for this sort of story (if it’s even true) to stay untold and therefore unable to haunt my meals.
