The loud and proud transphobe, attention-seeker, self-titled Trump in high heels, and all-around bag of flaming trash that is Rep. Nancy Mace (R-South Carolina) is at it again—and bullying her colleagues with legislation that should never have seen the light of day.
The congresswoman introduced a joint resolution on Wednesday to revise the Constitution—and effectively ban anyone who wasn’t born in the U.S., and is a naturalized citizen, from serving as federal judges or in Congress. Announcing the legislation on Twitter, she said such a measure was “long overdue,” adding in a picture specifically calling out Reps. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.), and—yep, you guessed it—Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.)
Except, Jayapal, Thanedar, and Omar are naturalized U.S. citizens, just like 23 other lawmakers… from both ends of the aisle.
Omar in particular has been a long-time target of choice for Mace, as well as the rest of MAGA, in the GOP’s racist crusades. In September, Mace attempted to censure Omar for “hate speech” that she never actually said; in January, she attempted to subpoena the Somalia-born lawmaker’s immigration records; and in March, she started a Twitter feud with Omar over Trump’s attacks in Iran, which kicked off after she offered mock-condolences to Omar over the death of the Iran’s supreme leader of more than 37 years. (Again… Omar is Somalian.) This latest attack, however, follows on the heels of Vice President JD Vance announcing the Justice Department is looking into Omar for alleged immigration fraud. On Tuesday, he announced, “It certainly seems like something fishy is there.”
Which is… baseless, but after being tapped by Trump to lead the “war on fraud,” Vance has well, been doing anything for father’s approval. Alongside Mace, that is.
Granted, it did not take long before other lawmakers called the congresswoman out on her blatant racism.
“Instead of working to help the American people, as so many cannot keep the lights on, keep food on the table, or pay their rent,” Jayapal said in a statement, “Nancy Mace is instead introducing racist legislation that denies the very history of a country that has been proudly shaped by immigrants.”
Speaking to MeidasTouch, Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-Ill.) added, “Nancy Mace is a racist, unstable individual who should not be taken seriously. I find it fascinating that she is coming after members on the Democratic side, and I think she forgot that she has a number of Republicans who were also not born here.”
Rep. Subramanian Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Ill.) added, on BlueSky, “As a naturalized citizen, I know firsthand that in America, patriotism is measured not by birthplace, but by service.”
As for Omar, she has yet to respond, or comment on the matter. But considering how hard Mace got schooled in their last Twitter showdown… I’d say that’s probably a good thing for Mace.
