Oregon Rock Photographer Thomas Oliver Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison for Rape and Sexual Assault

Latest

Thomas Oliver, a Portland-area indie rock photographer and videographer who worked as a cameraman on NBC’s Grimm, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping and assaulting 11 women and children, People reports.

“It’s taken many long and difficult years to get to this day,” said one survivor in a statement, per People. “In my mind, this sentence is for everyone you have ever hurt whether their names are on a piece of paper or not.”

Last October, Jezebel reported on Oliver, and how some women who said he assaulted them came together through comment threads on Facebook, forming a sort of digital whisper network. Some of their testimonies there were used in the case. Read that piece, by Anna Oseran, here.
