RIP John Delaney

During night one of CNN’s Democratic Debates, America witnessed the tragic trouncing of former Congressman John Delaney at the hands of Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. It was a brutal slaying, resulting in the centrist’s eyes bulging idignantly and a nervous smile splitting across his face in a vain attempt to deflect the fatal verbal blows.

“We should deal with the tragedy of uninsured, and give everyone health care as a right, but why do we have to be the party of taking something away from people?” Delaney asked, before characterizing Sanders and Warren’s Medicare-for-All platform as making private-insurance “illegal.”

Warren told Delaney he was making Republican talking points. Sanders told him he was an insurance company shill. And later, after Delaney suggested that candidates like Warren and Sanders rely on “fairy tale economics” to score political points, Warren responded, “I don’t understand why anybody goes to all the trouble of running to be the president of the United States to talk about what we really can’t do and shouldn’t fight for.”

RIP to a not so real one.
