TBS renewed Samantha Bee’s Full Frontal for 26 more episodes in April, so she probably feels safe talking back to them until at least the end of 2016.
On Sunday, whoever was running the TBS Twitter account lost touch with reality for a second and posted a really shitty tweet about Hillary Clinton’s laugh. Actually, it was more than a second. They were completely disconnected from common decency for the amount of time it takes to edit together a video of Hillary Clinton laughing and a pack of hyenas howling, then share it with 99,000 followers.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the video (which appears to be deleted) was titled “The Call of the Wild” and posted with the caption, ““Move over Donkey! There’s a new mascot in town. … #ImWithHyena.”
No. Sam Bee also said no (though she too has since deleted her tweet):
Delete Your Account is the true call of the wild during this political season.
TBS has since issued an apology, writing in a statement:
“This post was obviously a poor attempt at humor and has been taken down,” the network said Tuesday in a statement. “Moving forward we’ll leave political satire to professionals like Samantha Bee.”
It was also clarified that the video was created by a website owned by TBS called “The Heckler,” so that’s why their attempt at political commentary sounded like a drunk dude propped up by friends at a Caroline’s set.
