Sao Paulo May Hold Highly-Necessary Heterosexual Pride Day

Latest

If the mayor of Sao Paulo, Brazil signs legislation adopted by the city council, the city will start celebrating Heterosexual Pride Day every year in December. Carlos Apolinario, who authored the legislation, explains that it’s “not anti-gay but a protest against the privileges the gay community enjoys.” Apolinario is upset that the city’s huge Gay Pride parade is held on a bigger street than the March for Jesus, but this kind of pettiness doesn’t mean he doesn’t respect homosexuals. He says, “I have no trouble coexisting with gays as long as their behavior is normal.”
