A representative for the Wendy Williams told Jezebel yesterday that Williams would be addressing her fall from yesterday on her show this morning. And sure enough, she did, in detail, assuring viewers that she was not having a heart attack or “stroking out.”
“No, that was not a joke. I don’t want to fall, I’m a tall woman and it’s long way down” Williams began. She described how she felt a hot, a little dizzy, and “weird” during the commercial break before she fainted. To the people who noticed she was reaching up for head, Williams says, she says it’s because she promised herself two things: “First of all, this is never gonna happen again,” she said. “Second of all, if it’s going down, it’s got to be as cute as I can make it, so I’m going down with the crown.”
She says paramedics behind the scenes told her not to move but that she wanted to finish out the show, later saying her staff treated her like “Diana Ross.” After the show was over, she says, she was “low on hydrogen” so paramedics “filled her with electrolytes mixed with regular water” but everything was reportedly fine. “I’m a 53-year-old middle-aged woman going what middle-aged women go through, if you know what I mean!” she told the audience. “The costume got hot, right before I passed out I felt like I was in the middle of a campfire.”
She added, to the haters: “For people who thought I was stroking out, trying to get this purple chair next, nope. I’m here for a long time.”
So that’s it people: Wendy Williams is a 53-year-old woman going through what 53-year-old women go through!
