If you’re wondering why every nerd you know is bleary-eyed and unfocused today, it’s probably they were up late analyzing the new trailer for the first installment of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. In the clip, we learn that Martin Freeman looks great as Bilbo, Ian McKellen and Cate Blanchett are back, and the cinematography is just as stunning as it was in all three Lord of the Rings films. That’s all geeks really need to know, but if you aren’t a Tolkien fan feel free to pretend you’re too cool for all this talk of dwarves and Misty Mountains. We all know you’re going to wind up seeing it anyway.
