Trump Pauses His War Tour to Crash (Another) Party at Mar-a-Lago

On Friday, some of America’s very worst flocked to Mar-a-Lago for the stupidly-named “Palm Beach County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner Gala” (TLDR; an annual party the GOP throws to celebrate itself) when Trump made a surprise guest appearance.

“So you know, I didn’t know I was going to be here tonight,” Trump said to the crowd. “I’m supposed to be prosecuting the war.” Not sure when he went to law school, but I guess that’s what happens when you’re down a few attorneys.

Indeed, it was the 20th day of Trump’s war on Iran that began on February 28, a conflict that no one in the MAGAverse seems to understand why he started (as for Jezebel, we have our theories…), and one that’s apparently catapulted us into the “gravest energy shock of all time.” Per data reported by Human Rights Activists News Agency on Sunday, the attacks are also estimated to have killed about 1,407 Iranian civilians (15% of whom have been children) and more than 1,167 Iranian military members. As of last week, at least 13 American servicemembers have also died, the New York Times reports.

“The thing called the strait that we don’t need, that other countries need, that other countries don’t want to fight for—this is unbelievable,” he continued. (Assuming the garbler-in-chief means the Strait of Hormuz—which connects the Persian Gulf to the Arabian Sea—we very much need it, as it processes about a fifth of the world’s oil shipments.) “We’re fighting for everyone else.”

The gala’s cheapest ticket sold for $1,200, and featured speakers like Peter Ticktin, one of Trump’s favorite lawyers who’s been encouraging the president to nationalize the elections via executive order; Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.), who has a history of making rape jokes about minors on social media; and—as its master of ceremonies—former Hercules-turned-MAGA thumper, Kevin Sorbo.

Not at the event was James Fishback, the 31-year-old far-right anti-immigration and anti-abortion GOP Florida gubernatorial candidate who recently defended a college Republicans chapter for posting photos of Nazi salutes. He claimed on Twitter that he’d been “kicked out” of the event and had to go to Taco Bell instead. While it isn’t clear whether he actually got an invite, Laura Loomer later replied to his claims, tweeting, “Fishback isn’t allowed inside Mar a Lago. I can confirm he lost that privilege months ago when he suggested President Trump is a pedophile protector.” Not the worst way to lose a privilege, tbh!

“The war’s going very well,” Trump continued. “They have no navy, they have no air force, they have no anti-anything. All they can do is make a little ruckus.” On Sunday, he followed up in a Truth Social post with some even darker, more blatant, bloodlust: “Now with the death of Iran, the greatest enemy America has is the Radical Left, Highly Incompetent, Democrat Party!” Someone needs to tell the administration to stop openly fantasizing about the death of… anyone?!
