According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there have been at least three other children born with the same Zika-related defect. At least four other pregnant woman lost their babies after contracting the disease.

“The mother, a citizen of Haiti, came to Florida to deliver her baby,” said the state’s health department in a statement. “The department is working with the family to connect the child to services through our Early Steps program.”
