A Quick Note About Comments & A Reminder To Check Out Our Open Forum (Updated)
LatestThe look of the comments changed earlier this month, and anything that wasn’t working then has now been ironed out.
As previously mentioned, seeing only “featured” comments is now the default setting for all Gawker Media sites. Featured comments are those left by star commenters or promoted by an editor or star commenter. Of course, if you want to see all of the comments, it’s easy: You can click “Show all discussions” to see all comments on a post, or click “Expand all replies” to see all replies. This option is now “sticky,” meaning you should only have to click it once, not every time you open a post. (Note: Please see update/clarification below.)
In addition, you can see all comments by going to your commenter profile and changing your settings:
When you go to your commenter profile and click the “Settings” link, you get a pop-up in which you can select your default settings. Easy!
And, as a reminder, there’s an open forum for this site, #groupthink, where you can hang out anytime, day or night. And if you have a link you’d like to share with the editors, you can email it to [email protected] or post something at #tips.
Now go forth and comment!
Update: One of our tech people has a clarification: The expand all replies option when you click on it is only sticky if you are NOT logged in, otherwise you have to get it to stick by setting in it your profile.
