An OB-GYN Is Here to Answer Your Questions About the Affordable Care Act

Latest

Today’s the day that the Affordable Care Act’s women’s health package officially kicks in, eliminating copay on many health services for millions of women — but what how will that change how you go to the doctor? Why not ask one yourself!

Anne Davis, MD, MPH, an obstetrician/gynecologist in New York City, is here to answer your questions about what services the Affordable Care Act can offer women. Dr. Davis is the first consulting medical director at Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health. She has served in this position since 2008, after six years as member of the PRCH board. Since medical school, Dr. Davis has advocated publically for laws and policies that protect and increase access to contraception and abortion. She has brought her medical expertise and clinical experience to city, state, and federal officials through testimony and in-person meetings. You might recognize her from the first ever hidden camera investigation of a crisis pregnancy center or the editorial pages of the New York Times.

Use this space to ask Dr. Davis any burning questions you might have about what, exactly, doctors will provide to women under the Affordable Care Act’s new provisions. Bureaucratic or insurance company-related questions should be saved for a policy specialist, but if you’ve got a medical question, fire away! Now’s your chance to talk to a ladyparts expert!

Dr. Davis will be here at 1:00 PM EDT. Get a leg up and start posting your questions now!

Update, 2:30 PM: And that’s all, folks! Dr. Davis had to get back to work at the hospital. Thanks for playing, everyone — good questions all around.
