Approval For Same-Sex Marriage Skyrockets in Just Six Years

Latest

The day before the Supreme Court starts hearing California’s Prop 8 case, CNN/ORC International Poll delivers the news that more Americans support legal same-sex marriage and say they have a family member or close friend who is gay or lesbian.

According to the survey, fifty-seven percent of those polled say they have a family member or close friend who is gay or lesbian, up 12 points from 2007. The number of Americans who support same-sex marriage has risen from forty percent in 2007 to fifty-three percent. That’s progress, and that number is only gonna get bigger. The Future is coming — and it’s gonna be all flying cars, hoverboards, and marriage equality. Exciting times.
