Barbie's LinkedIn Page Highlights Real-Life Female Entrepreneurs

Latest

She’s had more than 150 careers in her 55-year history, but instead of bragging about all of her accomplishments—surgeon, astronaut, aerobics instructor, etc.— on her LinkedIn profile, she’s using the professional networking site to tout other (real-life) businesswoman.

Barbie lists her current occupation on her official, Mattel-approved LinkedIn profile as “Dream Incubator.”

My new business is “Dream Incubator” where I act as a consultant, helping girls around the world play out their imagination, try on different careers, and explore the world around them. Our company tagline is “If you Can Dream It, You Can Be it!”

Since starting the profile two weeks ago, Barbie has been posting about several different female entrepreneurs like Susan Feldman and Alison Pincus of One Kings Lane, Gina Rudan of Genuine Insights and Reshma Saujani of Girls who Code.

She’s also been giving career tips (get a mentor!) and being very girl power-y in general, even mentioning the importance of women having choices. Of course, that could be interpreted as several shades of pink plastic shoes instead of reproductive rights but then again Barbie has never actually carried to term so—who knows?
