Chinese farmer Liu Naiying insists that one of his sheep has given birth to a puppy/lamb hybrid. He says,
“I was herding the sheep, and saw a sheep licking her newborn lamb on the grassland. The lamb was still wet … When I went up close to check on the lamb I was shocked because it looked so weird, like a cross between a sheep and a dog.”
A researcher from Xi’an City Animal Husbandry Technology Centre says this is impossible and, “It’s likely that this is just an abnormal lamb.” We don’t know anything about animal husbandry, but as experts in stories about adorable animal adoptions, we’d like to point out that it’s possible the ewe is just caring for an abandoned puppy.
