An investigation is underway after the home of Diane Goodstein, a South Carolina judge, suddenly went up in flames on Saturday. Goodstein, who’d been walking her dogs on a nearby beach, was not inside her $1.5 million house when the fire erupted—but three members of her family were hospitalized, including her husband, former Democratic Senator Arnold Goodstein, who jumped out of a window to escape. Their conditions are currently unknown.

In September, Goodstein blocked South Carolina’s election commission from releasing voter data requested by the Justice Department, effectively ruling against the Trump administration. (Her decision was later overturned by the state’s Supreme Court.) In the weeks since, Goodstein’s reportedly been receiving death threats. And despite his continued effort to target any judge who disagrees with the president, Stephen Miller swears this is the left’s fault.

After Goodstein’s ruling, a DOJ official tweeted, “The [Justice Department] will not stand for a state court judge’s hasty nullification of our federal voting laws. I will allow nothing to stand in the way of our mandate to maintain clean voter rolls.” Uh…

After the fire made headlines, Congressman Daniel Goldstein (D-New York) tweeted on Sunday: “Trump, [Stephen Miller,] and MAGA-world have been doxxing and threatening judges who rule against Trump, including Judge Goodstein,” he wrote. “Will Trump speak out against the extreme right that did this??”

“You are vile,” Miller wrote, directly responding to Goldstein’s tweet. “Deeply warped and vile.”

Yet, Miller has repeatedly referred to Dems as “fascists,” and at Charlie Kirk’s memorial in September, declared: “You have no idea the dragon you have awakened, how determined we will be to save this civilization, to save the West, to save this republic…and what will you leave behind? Nothing, nothing.”

Lately, the White House Deputy Chief of Staff has also been targeting a judge who blocked Trump from mobilizing the National Guard in Portland, calling her guilty of “insurrection.” Meanwhile, Donald Trump vowed to investigate “the left” following Kirk’s death. Speaking to reporters in September, he said, “If you look at the problem, the problem is on the left. It’s not on the right, like some people like to say the right, the problem we have is on the left.”

“The issue before is now is very simple and clear. There is a large and growing movement of leftwing terrorism in this country. It is well organized and funded,” Miller tweeted on Sunday (spelling error his), “And it is shielded by far-left Democrat judges, prosecutors and attorneys general. The only remedy is to use legitimate state power to dismantle terrorism and terror networks.” So much for keeping the peace.

Again, the cause of the fire is unknown. But Goldstein further tweeted Miller: “If you are trying to combat political violence, why don’t you condemn the political violence against a judge who ruled against you and your admin? It’s pretty simple: do you condemn all political violence or only that against your supporters?” Miller has yet to respond.
