I Can't Stop Watching This Video of Paint Taking Over a Woman's Face
LatestFor those of us who couldn’t get enough of Gotye’s “Somebody I used to Know” video but wished there were more cool painting effects and less singing about breakups (god, did that song hit hard. Anyone else cry to it while sitting in a friend’s minivan?), our prayers have been answered.
Here’s a beautiful stop motion video of paint coming to life and taking over a woman’s face, giving her make-up routine a decidedly Bjork bent and turning her face into a roadmap — complete with a car driving all over her face —, a skull (classic) and a film-noir femme fatale, before devolving into more beautiful imagery that likely took about a million hours to create. There are so many little details that you’ll want to watch the video several times to take it all in while also resenting the fact that you didn’t pay as much attention in art class as you should have. (I did, but my art teachers told me that my forte was creating taped together masterpieces from old magazines they just had laying around the art room.) (Sadly, my Goofus and Gallant collage can’t hold a candle to this video.)
