Ivanka Trump, well-liked genius, is not convinced that most Americans want living-wage jobs as outlined in the Green New Deal that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is promoting.
In a Fox News interview, Trump was asked what she would say to someone who is intrigued by the Green New Deal program around a living wage and job guarantee. “I don’t think most Americans, in their heart, want to be given something,” said Trump, whose job and wealth came from her father.
“I’ve spent a lot of time traveling around this country over the last four years. People want to work for what they get,” she continued, omitting that her jobs, both past and present, both came from her father. “So, I think that this idea of a guaranteed minimum is not something most people want. They want the ability to be able to secure a job. They want the ability to live in a country where’s there’s the potential for upward mobility.”
Nearly 80 percent of workers say they’re living paycheck to paycheck, so there’s nothing quite like hearing a lecture about the dignity of work from a woman who has never had to worry about money a day in her life.
