Yippee! Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo, the writing team who gave us Bridesmaids, are teaming up to write, produce and star in a new movie!. And better yet? Wiig is directing, making her one of few female directors currently signed onto a big studio picture.
The film will be a comedy about “best friends who find themselves in over their heads and out of their depths, which were, perhaps, not too deep to begin with.” It is currently untitled.
In a statement to the New York Times, Wiig and Mumolo announced, “We’re very excited to be writing. We will be going into a cave for months to finish. An actual cave. We found one that’s nice and big. We’re putting a couch in there.”
