Megan Fox To TMNT Haters: If They Don't Love It, They Can Fuck Off

Latest

It doesn’t exactly take an expert movie critic to see that, the C4-rigged tidal wave that is the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles looks a goddamn mess. The movie has yet to be released and is already putting up with its fair share of grade A Haterade that not even halfassed Wu Tang references can salvage. But Megan Fox, who plays April in the movie, has some choice words for those who don’t so much appreciate seeing their childhood cartoon heroes ground up, CGI-ed and served back to them The Wall-style.

At a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles press conference, someone asked the panel consisting of Fox, co-star Will Arnett as well as the director, and some writers and producers about the backlash. And Fox immediately took the helm (via Cinema Blend):

“Let me tell you something about those people. How much money did Transformers 4 make? Exactly. Those people can complain – they all go to the theater. They’re gonna love it – and if they don’t love it, they can fuck off, and that’s the end of that.”

As Cinema Blend and Variety point out, TMNT fans made it pretty clear from the get-go that they did not approve of her casting as April, so her response makes sense to me. On top of that some of her more badass moments in the film were edited out.

Still, it’s a strange thing to see a celebrity tell movie-goers to fuck off before they even see the movie. Is it me or is she just checked out? Maybe she really is doing movies just to get by and cover her children’s education. Or maybe she’s resigned Michael Bay’s special grain of Haters Gonna Hate, or as I like to call it, Normal People Are Not Going to Appreciate it When You (C-4 Explosive) Diarrhea All Over Their Childhoods: A Normal Response To Transformers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
