Meghan McCain: Christine O'Donnell Lacks 'Experience' For Political Office

Latest

Meghan McCain, who quite handily parlayed her time blogging for her dad’s failed President campaign into a journalism gig and a book deal, said today on ABC’s This Week that Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell‘s inexperience should disqualify her.

In what is best described as a series of comments lacking self-awareness or irony, McCain told experienced journalist Christiane Amanpour this:

Appearing on ABC’s “This Week,” McCain said Tea Party favorite O’Donnell “has no real history, no real success in any kind of business.”
“And what that sends to my generation is (the message that) one day, you can just wake up and run for Senate, no matter how lack of experience you have,” said McCain, 26, author of the new book, “Dirty Sexy Politics.”

She then referred to O’Donnell on ABC News as a “nutjob.” And, to top it off, she said that O’Donnell was “making a mockery” of the serious business of politics.
