New .XXX Domain Name Manages To Anger Porn Industry & Religious Groups

The agency that governs internet addresses has authorized the creation of a .xxx suffix, but the owners of porn sites aren’t excited about this distinction. They claim the new domain name will make it easier for governments to block their sites and will force existing companies to buy their .xxx site before someone else does. Some religious groups complained that the domain will lead to the further spread of sex sites online, and apparently no one had the heart to tell them that porn sites will continue to multiply, with or without a name change.
