You may need to prepare yourself for another royal wedding. Prince Harry, who’s in America for military training, lived up to his title by coming to the aid of a defenseless young lady. It’s truly a modern day fairy tale — except, rather than being rendered unconscious by an evil hag, the damsel in question was just shoved into a hotel pool by one of her drunken friends. Harry and his friends were hanging out around a rooftop pool in San Diego and watching a rugby match (natch), when 23-year-old Lindsay Swagerty was pushed into the pool with her clothes on. “Prince Harry was the first to notice me when I got out and he wrapped his towel around me to keep me warm,” says Swagerty. “It was such a gentlemanly thing to do.” After saving Swagerty from a possibly fatal case of the chills, Harry arranged to meet up with her and her friend the next night for a romantic night of “beer and shots.” Swagerty swoons, “He is probably the most charming man I’ll ever meet.” [People]

In the November issue of Essence Janelle Monáe explains why she’s into menswear: “I’m just really attracted to a very tailored, classic look that commands attention. The tuxedo, especially on women, does that, I think, because of the stark black and white. It’s not a trendy thing. It’s timeless. It’s transcendent. The kind of thing you can give to your grandchildren … When I put on a tux or wear black and white, I feel closer to the people. It’s my uniform, a way to celebrate the working class people I grew up with. I want to represent that.” [ONTD]
