This Olive Garden Pasta Pass Holder Is Having the Time of His Life

Latest

Everybody was skeptical back in September, when Olive Garden debuted their $100 never-ending pasta passes. How could you possibly get your money’s worth without utterly wrecking your health (or at least your digestion)? Well, one North Carolina man says he’s eaten $1,510 worth of pasta and he feels just fine.

Via UpRoxx, local Fox outlet WGHP accompanied Alan Martin to the Olive Garden where he’s been living it up for the last month and a half. He bought the pass planning to use it twice a day, every day, as long as it was valid; thus far he’s taken advantage of the deal 95 times. He’s got seven days to go and he’s still not tired of pasta. “He’s got his money’s worth, absolutely,” said the restaurant’s general manager.

So what’s Alan’s deal? Surprisingly, he’s not a blogger hungry for micro-fame, but rather a soft-spoken minister who loves a) Olive Garden and b) a good deal. “I would love to be the person that ate the most out of the thousand people. That’d be a good contest to win,” he says in the segment. “WHY?” interjects the disbelieving reporter. “Because it means I got the most value out of the card that anybody did in the United States.”

The video, which I highly recommend, is a case study in contentment. “I can’t believe I get to eat like this every day. It’s just great,” Alan enthuses quietly, as though he can’t quite believe his luck, before tucking in with a small, satisfied smile. Alan is living his best life and I am absolutely jealous.
