There’s an old theory that you can predict the trajectory of the stock market according to the length of women’s skirts: if skirts are short, the stock market is on its way up, and if they’re long, the market’s going to plummet.
This has always seemed like an old wives’ tale, but in light of the recent stock market drop and credit-rating downgrade, we decided to check out the skirt section at a bunch of retail stores.
