Why Not Use Scotch Tape To Trim Your Bangs?

An old advertisement reveals a quick and easy way to cut your own bangs: with scotch tape! The instructions appear easy enough: “Fix fringe to forehead with scotch tape and cut across top of tape. Fringe cuts straight, hair trimmings stick to tape — won’t fall in eyes.”

We believe the process worked like magic for mothers who trimmed the hair of their children back in the 1940’s, but this may not work for the sideswept and/or fringe look. But it could potentially if you’re doing the straight-across thing. Maybe. Anyone want to play guinea pig for this? Do report back to us.
